The record companies use different ways to hide their DRM.
You can find some fine print samples here http://www.eff.org/IP/DRM/Sony-BMG/mediamaxpics.php and here http://www.eff.org/IP/DRM/Sony-BMG/guide.php
Fortunately, in more progressive countries, there are proposals to make them more obvious, like here http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/5041684.stm Read the discussion here http://politics.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/06/05/0433211&from=rss and avoid those companies.
If you can not live without their music, at least buy from iTunes and burn them to a CD, to remove the restrictions. It's cheaper anyhow.
