What do you mean, what happens? Usually one of the two moves out before the divorce is even filed. Who would want to be in the same house with the person they are divorcing...

In most places, if the man is still the major financhial contributer, then he'll be ordered by the court to provide the same level of support until the divorce is final & the housing decided.
Obviously, if a couple is going through a divorce, they are a not likely to want to live together. It happens more often than not that one person moves out, at least temporarily.

In order for a judge to grant a divorce ( at least in all states I know of) the couple MUST be living apart for a specified number of days/ weeks/months before the court will grant a divorce at all. If you and your husband are still together - I don't believe the divorce cannot be finalized. I am surprised your lawyer hasn't told you this. If you are doing a "do it yourself" divorce - look on line for you state's legal code. It will give more specific info. Hope this helps.

It depends on the state, if he and his soon to be ex wife own the house he could be seriously endangering his rights to any claim on the house. The man should check with his attorney before he makes such a move which could be considered abandonment.
Are their kids involved? It could effect custody rights if he moves out.
What does the separation agreement say? Is he supposed to stay or move out?
Does he have to move out? Is his live in danger from an abusive and or violent spouse? Again, 911 is the first call,he should get himself to a safe place then call his attorney.
Or he might simply be moving out because he wants to get some peace and his own place.
Or he could be moving in with a girlfriend or boyfriend. If the man involved feels he simply "has to get out of the house" he should clear it with his attorney first.
In short, it always depends on the the indvidual divorce case and the state it happens in .

in most states you have to separate for 6 months before getting a divorce so this would be normal. You should use this time to make sure that both of you really want a divorce and try to move on with ya'll lives.

He gets time to set up life as a bachelor, before he finally is one again. Might even find his next love interest.

I am certainly not an attorney...but i believe number one.......he's serious.....(just a little humor to lighten your load there).but what ever he left with as far as household items are yours for the keepiing........If you have property i don't think that it applies......thats up for the attorneys to drag out for more money....But if the divorce is imminent..........it's probably best he left before things got ugly right? Best to you.

He can be charged with abandonment unless there is an agreement by both parties that is approved by the judge.
This is ESPECIALLY important if there are kids involved.

If your home and bills are in both names, legally he is still responsible. If you are on good terms and you are able, buy him out. Any equity in your property will be yours.
