The passing of the soul from one existence to the next.
Or, in personal terms a skinny skeletal figure who likes to walk around in a hooded gown pretending to be a jedi, only he couldn't afford a light sabre so stole an ancient garden implement instead.

Death is the same and different for each of us. It is the same in that our physical bodies only live for a certain amount of years, deteriorating with age and then stop functioning. Death is different in what you believe happens after death. I personally believe that there is eternity after death and so for me, death is only a beginning.

Hi! Death is the total breakdown of your body's function. Every organ of a person has ceased functioning and the whole body system is no longer in operation, just like the total breakdown of a machine, vehicle, engine, etc. And, the breakdown is so severe that nothing can be done to restore its functionality again. There's no sign of life anymore, no response, no movement, no warmness, no breath, no feeling, etc. The atmosphere around someone who has died is also affected and there'll be a sense of loss and intense sadness. Spiritually, the spirit and soul of the deceased will be returned to wherever he is supposed to be belonged to and there he'll be eternally. That's my defination of deaht. Just a little sharing....

Death is the ceasing of all functions of life. After breathing, heartbeat, and brain activity stop, the life-force gradually ceases to function in body cells. Death is the opposit of life.
It's like sleeping without waking up.

"death"as we view it,..is simple transition.or change of life,it's similar to a change of radio station,.its like changing CLOTHS.literally for we are not this body,we are more then that we are a body within a spirit not the other way around, the spirit which are "We"carries the physical carcass.we call body, thus when we say "die"here its not WE who do..for we wil never die,but a mere physical body, which decays, whereas the other body or life form in which we embody.goes on to live.for a determined time.untill its time to be either REECARNATED.into another life form.or simple.join in or merge with the supreme.the macron, which we call GOD.

Excellent question. The human is composed of two parts, the spirit and the body, both compose the soul. When the body is damaged or aged to an irreparable stage, it can no longer harness the spirit, so the spirit departs. When the spirit departs, the body is lifeless or dead. Take care and God bless
