I used to watch the show religiously when I was younger, but can't remember if there was ever a time that he was out that another person filled in for him.

Randolph Mantooth played the role of Hal in 2003,and again from 2004 to 2005. On both occasions, he came in under less than ideal circumstances(BH left to tend to his dying mother the first time,then was fired the second,only to return late last year).

Yes there was but I can't remember his name..Hal..I can't remember his name left the show several times some for stage and movie work and again when his mother died..
