I truly believe that something is missing from the relationship. Whether that something is affection, playfulness, love, attention or even insecurity on the cheaters part. Even simply needing to prove something to themself.

Some people just are not capable of being with just one person. Lust IS an acceptable answer, as that's what leads most people around. If a person is committed 100% to another person, then the lust is obviously managable. Others try to keep it in check, and can't. Still others don't care one way or another.

Are you asking because someone cheated on you? Or are you thinking of cheating?

For men, I think it's just the sex. I read somewhere though, that for both men and women, it's the thrill...You know, like when you first met the person you are cheating on....Just can't wait to see them, feeling butterflies at the thought of being with them again...Makes sense to me.
Most of the men I've known have sex on their minds most of the time. I'm sure there are a lot of them that would cheat if they thought they would get away with it. Some of them are just talk though.
I think women do feel they aren't getting the emotional support they need. Maybe even the physical attention also.
COMMUNICATE THESE FEELINGS TO THE OTHER PERSON BEFORE THE CHEATING OCCURS!!!!!

for a man its being bored in his marrige and low self esteem, for a woman its not getting the attention she needs at home, all cheating is wrong and I think that if married people would just sit down and have some comunication with each other than cheating would not happen in most cases

The person that cheats is usually missing something out of the relationship. Affection, sex, companionship or not enough time spent with their significant other.

I think its because the person cheating is not receiving enough attention from a boyfriend or spouse.

the number one reason for cheating is that something is lacking in their currently relationship. For men it is usually sexual where as w/women it is normally emotional.

they also do not respect their partner.

I find it to be two situations

1. a need to conquer
2. lack of control over one's own curiousity
3. someone has a void in their love life that is being fulfilled by someone else.

i think people cheat when not married because they have high expectations of their mate and they they are not quite ready for that committment yet and they want to play the field.....when married i bevlieve its mostly because of unmet needs..
