The first undersea vent exploration was done by Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (not government agency). NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) has done a lot of exploring and mapping of theses areas since then, that's probably who you're thinking of.
I haven't seen anything that links hydrothermal vents with current climate change, do you have a reference for that?

It wasn't a government agency that discovered them - it was most likely a private or university funded expedition.
Undersea volcanos are not what's causing the earth to heat up.
Similarly, the Sun isn't getting any noticably hotter, although it may feel like it to you.

Where to begin? 'All those submarine volcanoes' have been active for over 3 billion years, so I doubt they are responsible for a new warming trend. The sun IS getting hotter, but not to the degree that the earth is getting hotter. Whether man is responsible or not is another issue, but let's not muddle it with quasi-scientific statements.

I believe you are refering to mid-ocean ridges. These were found by Naval submarines.
These are a part of plate tectonics
CO2 is 30% higher than it has been for 650,000 years. Methane is 130% greater.
Look at the 'hockeystick', which shows a dramatic warming since 1950.
(see links below)
How's that for proof of man's fault in this? There is ample proof, any real scientist will tell you that.
There has NEVER been an article doubting man's influence on global warming published in a peer-reviewed journal. A recent study of almost 1000 proved that.
Yes, the earth naturally heats and cools, but the rate and amount we are warming now is unprecedented in the recent geologic past. We are doing this, and we must stop it. This is not some political statement or rhetoric. This is science trying to educate a crass, ignorant public of the damage they are doing. The magnitude of temperature increase ALREADY is about 10x that of the 'little ice age' of the middle ages, and rate and amount are only going up.
