After I eat (this could be anything from things solid to soft foods, and any amount) I get pains on the left side of my stomach. Sometimes its just an ache, at other times it so bad I can't move for a few minutes. Its usually in the front. At times it makes my back hurt. And on the occations that it is really painful, it also moves down and in the back. My health insurance wont kick in for 2 or 3 more weeks and I have been having this problem for a few months now. I just want to know if anyone might have an idea as to what it could be and if I should go to the hospital or not.

Its not just when I eat, but also when I drink. And sometimes randomly. But mostly when I eat. I know its not gas or IBM, there are other issues I just don't want to get into. Because I am not sure if it has anything to do with it, and I don't want to put my business out there.

please see a doctor. You could have an ulcer or some other digestive tract problem. please go now as this is only going to get more painful if you wait.

Definitely see a doctor right away. 2 or 3 more weeks and you may never get to read anymore answers. I'd hate for that to happen. I'm no doctor (because I don't have any patience heh-heh) but there is a possibility you could be one of the few whose appendix is on the left side. Cases are rare but not impossible. Now hurry and get to the doctor. I can't win the best answer if you can't log on!
Have a great day!

Sounds to me like you may have a blockage of your intestine. When this happens you may still go to the bathroom but not enough to clear out all that has been backed up. You will need to seek medical attention, because it could also be a number of things causing the problem. Don't wait till your insurance kicks in, because you may be sorry in the long run. Make payments if you need to. Your health is worth more than the money you will be spending to keep yourself healthy.

You're stumach might be out of place (i know crazy when you first hear it..) but my chiropracter found that my stumach was out (for like the first 10 years of my life) and it felt just as you say sometimes really minimal sometimes really bad.. and then it after he put it back it felt soo good.. also.. you might need a massage you're back might have some trigger points in it that is resonating to your front (i've had these many times also).. that is if you believe in other things other than (here take a pill and you'll feel great).. i dont believe in advil or tylonal - the metaphor to those would be that its like putting a band aid onto a gushing wound..

I really don't know what it could be, but try going to www.webmd.com Maybe you could put in the symptoms and you can find something. I go there a lot to try to find things out. But I think you would need to go to the doctor before your insurance kicks in. If you have had this for a few months already, it could be something serious. Hope you feel better and find out what it is.

If you can hold out for a couple weeks until your insurance kicks in, do so. It sounds like you might have IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). You must see a doctor for this condition so you can get the proper treatment to help you. If you call your ins. co., they may tell you to go ahead and see your health care provider, then turn your ins. into them later so you'll be covered. Or sometimes your HCP will work something out with you if you tell him your situation...Good luck! Sorry about your pains...

You can go to a clinic or state hospital without insurance. Anything that hurts that bad shouldn't have to wait for your insurance to kick in. If the problem kills you tomorrow, then what good would your insurance do you anyway. GO TO THE DOCTOR.

I've had that happen before but not to the extent that you describe. I'm not sure what it could be. If it gets worse I would go to the hospital. Is there a county hospital in your area that you can go to? If not, make an appointment as soon as you get your insurance.

I'd get that checked out, it could be gas but if it has been happening for a while it is probably more serious, you can always get an insurance claim later.
