If he doesn't stand up for you as he does for his family, - he doesn't consider you family.
Better look for someone who does.
When a guy gets with a woman, she either becomes his family or he is useless. Lose him.

Useless. He should stand up for whoever is right in the situation, be it his family or not. If he can't be objective, or if he can't back you up, and that's not what you're looking for, you should speak ot him about it to try to resolve it. Either he changes or you accept him the way he is. If not you'll both be miserable.

it is common for a guy to stand up for his own family members,just got to bear with him & understand his position between you & mother..be tolerate & patient.

i would say mama's boy but also he can take up for you but he just don't want to right then but soon he would realize that you can't take it no more with him and his family.
