I've never heard of ear drops to clean out a childs ears. My mother (a registered nurse) says to never use q-tips. Only get what you can with your finger and thats it. I have a four year old and i've never used a q-tip on her ears and her ears are just fine.

I think it would be fine. When my son was two, I took him to the doctor for some other reason, but before he could look in his ears he had his nurse use a mixture of warm water and hydrogen peroxide to flush out his ears. A big ugly blackish ball came rolling out of his ear. No wonder the doctor couldn't see in his ear.

honestly, you really shouldn't use q-tips to clean a childs ears. if your that concerned, call your doctor, but please stop using q-tips, my goddaughter had a perferated ear drum from her mother doing the same thing.
