A NASCAR event can seat 100,000+, but that's only 1 event each week. Football has more attendance, advertising revenue, and the highest rated sports event of the year, every year.

Nascar has seen amazing growth over the past several years, but football still rules in America.

Football has more TV revenue, higher ratings, and is still easily the favorite sport in any poll. I'm including a link to a poll done last year that show's football running away with the top spot, while auto racing (ie. Nascar in America) is fourth:
