It could mean a number of things.
1. You have given him reason in the past.
2. He feels guilty for something he is doing or has done and fears you doing the same.
3.Someone else before you cheated and now he doesn't trust women in general.
3. He is just naturally jealous. (If this is the one run like the wind)
Have a heart to heart conversation. See where his fears are coming from. Then perhaps you can find a way to lay them to rest. However, some people are just jealous by nature. Those are the people who become very controlling and possessive. For your sake I hope that it is something that can be resolved through communication. From a guys point of view, it doesn't sound good. Actually from your point of view it doesn't sound good. I am a guy and I have the same problem. I don't trust people completely because of my past. It hurts whoever you are interested in and yourself. Ask him why he doesn't trust you. Ask him who he does trust and see what he says. Just don't hold it against him right now until you get to the bottom of why he doesn't trust you.
