mcafee IS an antimalware program. there's something else on your computer harming it. do a scan with mcafee and it will probably find it and get rid of it

open macafee security center. there are little tabs on the left hand side dealing with different aspects of security. click on virus scan. confirm that you want to scan for viruses. it will take a little while, but let it scan. it may find several viruses, and it will quarentine all of them until you give the 'ok' to delete. on some occasions, you will not be able to delete the infected file because it is copywrite protected or foreign to your operating system. if that occurrs, close macafee immediately. right click on your internet explorer icon. delete your history, your cookies, and most importantly your internet files. this will ensure the the file is deleted, as it was picked up on the internet. after doing that, run virus scan again to destroy any part of the virus the may have got into your computer. if none of this works, don't panic.
it's not the end of the world. try calling geek squad =)

You need a better malware/Anti Virus solution that proactively monitors what is happening on your hard drive and stops the malware from doing anything. Try Panda Platinum, it is the only proactive antivirus/antimalware suite out there with TruPrevent. When you have 3 or 4 different programs protecting your machine, such as Norton, (or Mcafee, or AVG) for AV, then ad aware, or Spybot, plus pop up blockers, they do not work together. Panda is one stop shopping, and will stop 98.92% of unknown threats, according to ICSA labs. Anything else is not enough.

OK it is funny how spyware/addware software companies use sypware/addware to sell you there products. Hands down use Norton anti-virus and webroot spysweeper. Other people will recommend other things but trust me these are the best. Even PC magazine said so about spysweeper. Both of these products can be downloaded at their sites. Use google to find them. You don't have a critical system error, what you have is someone scaring you into buying their stuff.

Mcaffee sucks. It stores its virus definitions online instead of on your computer. This means if you get a virus that prevents you from getting online the software doesn't work.

Spysweeper, if you buy it and not take the free one, can actualy prevent addware/spyware from being uploaded to your computer. Other programs try and fail.

well, since you have McAfee thats all you need, scan it 2 times to make sure u get everything
and try getting Ad-aware SE Plus for spy ware and even some small virus things
they kinda work hand in hand (the 2 programs)
if you have a virus, but u are doing a scan for spyware
Ad aware will let McAfee know and it will delete the virus automatically

This is not a virus, this is a worm which is added to add ons of your Explorer. Download Microsoft Defender and that will take care of it. Neither McAfee nor Norton cleans the worms so perfect as MS Defender do. Spyware is another software which can do it too...

You are going to need to open your virus protection software. Then find the button that scans your computer. If it finds something you are going to need to quarantine. Figure out how. It's something like you right click on it or like you select it and got to options. Once is quarantined, you might be able to delete it. Sorry i can't help more. If I can see whats going on I could help you more.

i recommand you to try firefox. which is more safe than IE.

it can block that annoying ads and disable any virus on webpage. as you know, most virus are spread through internet.
