It depends on what he/she did. We belive that the punishment should fit the crime when it comes to a child. I have a 4 year old of my own and we've struggled with his behavior a little. We use a "time out" chair most of the time. However, when it's really bad then he does get a spanking. Your child needs to understand that you are in charge, they need to really belive that. After their punishment is over, get down on their level and explain to them what they did wrong and why they should never do it again. They also need to know that you punish them because you love them. If they do it again the punishment will keep getting worse until they stop. Make sense? These are just some things we do at our house, some people might think that spankings are child abuse but I completely disagree. We took spankings and God out of schools and look what happened. . .

There is no such thing as a bad child. They live as they learn. If a child has no respect for others that is what they have been taught. Parenting classess is a great place to start.

be firm, let him know there are consequences for the choices
made, and set boundaries, sometimes there can be something like attention seeking or behaviors that are considered bad may
indicate a personal problem . Try talking about it. No one is
beyond help. We all know what is right and wrong. Dont give
up . ok
