Whoever wrote this is just stupid. He used cheap stereotypes that "define" Italy in the eyes of the world, "mafia" and "pizza". I'm an Italian in the USA, and unfortunately a few people (Americans and other nationalities as well) do think that we live like in the movie "The Godfather" and we only eat pasta and pizza. Pizza is yummy, though. Let me tell you that I haven't eaten a "real" pizza since I left Italy ;-) So yeah, Italians *are* good at making pizza, but it's not the only thing they are good at.

OK if Italy was only good at making pizzas how exactly did they beat Germany without cheating and the ref not being on they're side?that makes absolutely no sense because Germany was doing everything possible to win every game they played so remind how is that possible? El President i agree with you they ARE the Cancer of Football.

DEFINITELY. A lot of the Germans think that the Italians cheated in the semi-final match, or simply didn't deserve it. I know a German classmate who has posted several hate messages criticizing the Italians, even though they fairly won the match, and I'm sure there are millions of others who feel the same way. For the sake of the game, the results are the results and if someone wins, you just have to accept it.

I would have to agree that they are just journalists. I am german and I have to say that the people I talked to were not jealous, but disapppointed. I would love to have seen Germany win, who wouldn't if it is hosted in their country? So, it would have been great to take it home on our own turf, but I can guarantee you that the press would have talked about anyone - except for Germany itself, that is just the way it is. And we all know the press will go to great lengths to get people to read their paper.
Just enjoy Italy's win and now I am hoping that my team will be next. Just wait and see what the press has to say about Germany then.

to EL President: well, the Germans are arogant??? at least we know how to play soccer without giving the ref money to that he lets us win and stuff like that....what you wrote is BS. You have probably never been in Germany, so you shouldn't write crazy stuff like that. Germany used to have the best goalkeeper in the world (Oliver Kahn) and some of our soccer players did win an award for being the best soccer players around right now.
So you should stop saying **** about Germany. Germany will win the world cup 2010....no matter what. and we will also win the EM 2008....you will see.

(rember the game in 2002 agianst the united states when a ball from vs was actualy behind the line a germans get the bal out of the goal(when he was already been in! ) with his hand ref said nothing
rember the world cupmatch agianst belgium in 1994 in usa when josip weber was torpidated by thomas helmer she ref a suise men kurt rothlisberger dident do anything
in 1982 semi final germany frace the incident shumacher-batiston the german keeper actualy get the frenchman in the hospital no card was given and there are so many more things

They do make delicious pizzas. But they also play some ammazing football. Of course they are jealous of the Italions. I'm jealous of Italy. And so is the rest of the world.

Not jealousy, simply envy, according to me.
As they tried to put Italy down by their newspaper, using not good words...
As they lost for 2-0, things changed because they felt kicked in the ***.
Anyway they feasted, so I think they're happy for the 3rd place.
Crazy! I've never see anyone before celebrating the 3th place !

Well, i would say that journalist was 90% true. Have u guys ever been in Rome before?? I have.., try Antico Forno Campo de’ Fiori, no doubt, they have the best pizzas in town... do u agree with this, Italians?? *LOL
