I used to think my life was one straight road and I could see for miles in front of me, the horizon was the moutains-that was my goal-retirement, end of life, whatever. Then, I learned that even though it looks like it is a straight road with no variance, there are dips and detours and curves you can't see! And sometimes those detours have the most beautiful scenery. We are so adaptable as humans, we can adapt to our environments, different jobs, different friends, try new activities. We can reinvent ourselves any time we want. If there is a quality we want to work on, we can. If we want to learn a new skill, we can find a way to learn it. Life has much beauty, even though we are not perfect and there is ugliness in the world. If you look for the beauty, you will find it. Watch the sunset tonight, listen to the laughter of a child, smell the rain, newly mown grass, see an older couple look at one another with a lifetime full of love in their glances, the way a new mother looks at her child, the trust a child looks at his father with-the play of kittens or puppies...there are so many things.

Everything is temporary....The good things and the bad things. The trick is to enjoy your good things a little bit longer. I try to make good things happen. Not just for me but for others around me. I find that if I'm having a bad time, then by helping someone else, my day becomes a little bit brighter. Take it from someone who's been too close to the edge: there is always a way out and tomorrow is always a fresh start.

The best way to deal with life is to give yourself something to look forward to everyday. Even if that thing is just a good cup of coffee. It will make you wake up everyday excited and ready to go.

my personal journey through life has been made up of times of great loss and sacrifice those memories will always be with me, but they have also made me stronger. I don't take life for granted. even the smallest of things in life are important to me, i spend all of my time trying to make myself a better person, by spending more time with my wife and children and trying to brighten the lives of people around me never hesitating to help others in need. these are the things that help me enjoy life...remember that no matter what life throws in your path you and only you have the ability to change it....hence the saying life is what you make it......and yes life is worth living...don't let bad things in your life hold you prisoner....get out and embrace life learn to love it and hold it dear because its only here for for a very short time.

Only you can answer that question LuLu. But I notice a bit of depression in your writing here. Maybe you should talk with someone you trust. You can see the glass half empty or half full.....it's up to you to decide and encounter and persue what makes YOU happy.

Best of luck to you my friend!

Yoga, meditation, close friends and acquaintenances, deep conversation and long periods of giggling, plus the random little joys in life. Also, my lil kitties. :)

well, you always have to remember, everything you do adds up to form a big picture, and embarrasing moments always pass by, no matter how long it takes.

chances are when you're 90 years old on your death bed, you're not going to be thinking about how much you were humiliated in highschool or whatever
