I found him in the middle of the road. I just picked him up so he wouldn't get hit and he didn't mind in the least. No reaction at all.

Put some Chicken Liver on a Treble Hook with either a Wire Leader or 50 Lb Test Line. You will get the Turtle. Keep Your Fingers and Hands away from it's Mouth.

You have to catch it from behind,,, but be really quick.. If i were you i would wear gloves, they are very mean. Maybe throw a stick of celery or something for it to eat then come up from behind. Once we had a snappin turtle in our yard, my dad had to capture it so it wouldnt hurt me or my sister, and he dropped it off in the bayou by our house.

I used to catch them with a stickball stick (bat) in a pond near where I grew up.

Just stick the end near the turtles mouth and when he latches on, pull him up onto land.

Then get behind him. It works better with 2 people. I wouldn't try to catch a snapper alone. That's asking for trouble.

Make sure your stick is thick enough that the turtle in question can't snap right through it. They will frequently clamp down and hold on...

Slip up behind him when he's sleeping and grab his shell. He'll never see it coming! ;)
