Only $2.43? That bum is not doing his job very well. The last time I kicked a bum in the balls (for drinking PBR on my stoop) he had $7.50 and 4 PBRs left.

Assuming that this is true, I have to say that the kick in the balls was appropriate, but taking the bum's money would have taken it a little too far.
