You should be able to get a raise even though you are part time. To be sure, check your policy manual or ask HR. Don't feel bad if you don't, though, because I know full time employees who are lucky to get a one percent...yes, one percent...raise.

Why not? Part time and temporary workers have no leverage. It's like lions feeding on a carcass. The small and young lions wait for scraps. It makes sense if you're doing the same job as a full time person who gets a raise. Wages and salaries are confidential. You are not supposed to know when raises come out. So you are standing on a ledge on El Capitan without a rope.

Ask the boss for a performance evaluation.

Part-time should definitely get a raise as well. This would prevent large companies from hiring many workers on a part time basis just to exclude fringe benefits including raises. By doing this, workers would be hired full time and their stability would be better protected.

I have always received raises when I worked at part time jobs, both at small and large companies. I know many companies differ in the raise policy. However, this should be available through the human resources staff.
