Yes and no. As someone else said, things are pretty scripted. However, the wrestlers still do the impressive moves--they just tell each other ahead of time (usually) what's going to happen so that no one gets seriously hurt. My brother did all-star wrestling for awhile (not the big time, but they did travel to different states) and I saw the marks on his back from running into the ropes, I saw the broken leg he got, I heard the story about the guy who was temporarily paralyzed because he screwed up and thought they were going to be doing a different move. It is still dangerous, and it still takes great stamina and strength. My brother always said, "It's not fake. It's sports entertainment."

you can tell that some of the backstage shows they put on are fake. but nobody can possibly know that it is fake unless they got a job in the wwe or the ecw or the tna. once they do that then they can start telling people it is fake. i have not seen any professional wrestlers say it is fake. and until you see that you should just beleive what you want to beleive.

yes it is , the word for it is Kayfabe , which basically means storylines . The winners are predetermined based o a lot of different factors like , crowd reaction , athleticism , dedicatin to company , ect... It is just like anything else on t.v. , they have scripts that they go by everytime they are on stage . This still doesn't take away the fact that they are very talented and athletic . They do do live shows which is a lot of improv involved but the final outcome is already known . It is basically like a soap opera where you can guess what will happen next which is very addicting to see if you are right

All wrestling shows are fake. They have a script for the wrestler. Some of the stories are pretaped before the show begins. During the match the wrestlers communicate with each other so they know what to expect. Itsjust a big show to entertain people.

Yes, WWE and all of professional wrestling is scripted. However, falling 15 feet to the ring and falling on concrete and getting thrown into barbed wire, ect. ect., is real. The pain is very real. And often leads to wrestlers taking muscle relaxers and pain pills. Also, people get injured quite seriously sometimes, just like Mark Henry did on saturday night.

Don't ask dumb questions, if it was fake, why do they get hurt. Ever see Mick Foley? Why would they be so big and fast if they didn't need to be? Ofcourse it's real. Kurt Angle won Olympic Gold in 1996. Was that fake? Boxing is fake... 13 weight divisions, WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF all recognise different champions, FAKE!!!

The match outcomes are predetermined. Some of the wrestling moves are deceptive. Many of the moves are real but do not cause the damage that you would think. WWE is sports entertainment.

i don't like the term "fake" and neither does Mr McMahon. the outcome of matches is predetermined and they rehearse the matches and stunts so that they can prevent a repeat performance of what happened to Owen Hart 7 years ago. i suppose you could say it's staged. the chair shots and stuff do hurt but they're not full force...i don't actually wrestle yet but I am working on it

you cant say its 100% fake.
But its mixture. Sometimes results are pre-determined, sometimes not. and that gives sudden pleasure astonishing.
While there is no doubt that it requires real skills without skills you can not reach a position. after wwf it is mainly entertainment.
But as great Eddie Gurero said "No matter what, It always comes down to real fight".
So you can enjoy the WWE. enjoy the real part of it.
