Tough one. 30 years ago my best friend was a girl but I was not her "type" for that. She finally proved it by hopping in the back seat with another guy with me having to walk around to give them privacy.
That kind of killed that tension for me and our friendship survived it. He was a disposable fling for her but our relationship went on. I can still e-mail her today.

It will go away on its own. I had sex with a guy friend after a 7 year friendship. The sex was great and lasted all night but we never really spoke again. We became just something to scribble on. I later had another guy friend with sexual tension and chose not to have sex with him. The tension went away and we are still friends. We married each others best friends.

Having been on the same boat, I suggest you talk about it. If you're both single and this sexual tension really is from pure attraction to each other, then maybe you ought to take a leap of faith and pursue another type of relationship with this guy. Be careful, though, if the tension is fueled by outside sources, namely: suggestions from friends, (if you're not single) relationship problems, alcohol. If you do get together, expect your friendship to change drastically. REMEMBER: sex changes everything!!!

Hey! unless both in love or I will advise you don't think about it. What Sexual tension? If both are in love, there won't have any tension. Let it be natural just enjoy the process of birds and bees first.

Get drunk and have some 'friend sex'. Then you'll realize you want to be with him and the tension will be gone.
