because mentally, he wasn on a level far more complex than everything that is taught on the high school level. he could already solve equations and formulas that are taught on the PhD level. doing high school algebra to him was like the average person learning to do addition. high school didn't challenge him enough, so he dropped out.

Maybe for the same reasons I did:
1). He couldn't handle the math
2). He got tired of his professors saying "just use common sense!"
3). He was better at teaching the courses than the teachers were!

The only thing that got him into higher levels of school in the first place was his math abilities. He was a terrible student.

He was frustrated at school as most of his classmates and even teachers thought he was retarded. I did some research online and didn't come up with a satisfying answer but did find this great artwork :)

Had a learning disability and had difficult staying focuseed in school. It is rumored that his door had to be painted red so he could remember which was his.

probably because he was bored. most schools simply can't keep a highly intelligent and gifted person challenged, therefore they get bored and disinterested. people like that need tutors who teach on their level.
