Its only called Soccer by Americans, the rest of the world call it football. We have been calling it by this name for 100's of years and we actually kick the ball with our feet, hence the name football. Your game has only been around for a few years and its more like rugby with shoulder pads, so why you feel it necessary to try and pinch our games name and call a sport that the rest of the world plays something else is completely beyond me.

Well to avoid confusion between soccer and football, why don't you change soccer to football and american football to ApeBall and replace the ball with a banana.

Im from Ireland and we call it soccer too.Its because America already has American football and Ireland has Gaelic football so they use the word soccer to eliminate confusion
