I'm 27 year old Indian attorney, and considering moving to Denver. Smart move socially? How diverse is the city? Are there are a variety of options for night life? Good restaraunts?

I would describe Denver as a liberal city with a young population, many of whom came here from somewhere else which seems to make it easier to get to know people here. With a big IT industry base here, there is a growing Indian population. Cost of living is somewhat lower than the coasts and real estate is still affordable. Weather, outdoor activites: #1in the country as far as I'm concerned. Nightlife and restaurants excellent. Of course, you'd have to get licensed to practice law in Colorado if that's what you're going to pursue - are you admitted in another US state?

If you look at the demographics of Denver, less than 3% of the population is a race other than white, which is very low for a big city. In downtown or Aurora, it seems to be a little more diverse than other areas of the city. Although you may want to keep that in mind, people here do tend to be very friendly. If you want nightlife, I would definitely stay closer to downtown, in many of the suburbs there is no real nightlife. There are some pretty good restaurants in most areas of Denver.

Decent night-life. I'm from a bit south in Colorado Springs. We've got all sorts of Indians, but we're a lot more conservative than Denver. Of course, we're a lot cheaper and a lot of people I know who work in Denver commute from the Springs. Colorado Springs was also just listed as the top large city to live in by Money Magazine. Anway, Denver, yeah, it's nice to visit once in awhile. Everyone I know who lives there loves it though.

Message me when you get into town.

I have been to Denver a few times, it seems very diverse. I am gay and I felt very comfortable there. There are some great restaurants and a few good night clubs, if that is your scene.
