#2 is nice. It isn't called memory, it's called RAM. 1 gb of ram would be nice for gaming and video editing, and the DVD drive is also a plus. The Processor is also a fast one. If your going to be just doing word processing, I'd get the cheaper one. But for gaming and videos, go #2.

You need to be looking at more than just those specs. You need to take into account how reputable the brand is, and how good their customer support is. Consumer magazines like Consumer Reports have ratings on these issues. Personally, I'd suggest you take a look at the new Apple Macbooks with Intel processors. Apple's service and support are very highly rated, as are their computers. Good luck!

#2.
It has one of the latest processors, the most memory, and the largest harddrive of the four. I just recently purchased a laptop with a Core Duo processor, and it's ridiculously fast.

I would go with #2 unless it is a dell......dell can not be easily upgraded and has internal problems. I would go with anything that is made by HP...they ARE the best!!!!
