Oh man, thats not good. I dont know you, but i feel for you. They shouldnt be bleeding, and although im far from being a doctor, it sounds to me as if they might not be it as good as they could be. I know thats not much help, but i wish you luck in getting this problem taken care of.

I sliced the back of my legs a few years ago and had 24 stitches. 12 on the inside and 12 on the outside. For the next day or so they bled a little off and on. As long as blood isn't gushing out of the stitches and the bleeding is moderate, it should be ok, but if it concerns you, then call the doctor. And don't forget that head injuries bleed more than other injuries.

A little bleeding is normal. I had 5 stitches in my thumb last month and for the first two days it bled through the bandaid a couple of times. If it's not too much don't worry about it. If it's a lot go back to the doctor, or if it doesn't stop in a day or so go back.

I got eight stitches on my elbow, and they bled on and off for a few days, until I finally tore them. I think it had more to do with the location than anything else. Anyways, a lot of my friends stiches have bled too. I think it's pretty normal. However, if you are really concerned, or it's anything more than a dribble of blood, you should call your doctor.

stiches should never bleed however if there occurs continous bleeding/sockage from stiches that indicates minor vessal have reptured at the site of stiches. therefore precautions must be taken to prevent/stop it
