Drink plenty of water. That helps your complexion in many ways. Also wash your face with a mild soap.

You can't prevent it, but you can take precautions to minimize it.

First, keep your face clean. Use an cleanser at least twice daily that contains acne-fighting agents, usually salicylic acid (the basis of aspirin). This will minimize the number acne-causing bacteria and will keep your pores from clogging as much.

Next, use a moisturizer. Skin that dries out is susceptible to infection, so a little moisturizer goes a long way to keeping it healthy. A face moisturizer with SPF will also guard against sun damage (which is bad for you skin now and as you age).

However, none of this is a sure fix. As you go through your teen years your body chemistry undergoes a lot of changes. That can leave your skin out-of-whack for a few years. If you start developing severe problems, see you doctor. Otherwise, just take good care of your skin.

Oh, yeah, a healthy diet and exercise will go a long way too!

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

Keep doing whatever you are doing, you seem to have found the right thing already. Some people never get acne, it's not a given. I was one of the lucky ones too. Just keep up a good face washing regimen and use astringents.

Eat right, wash often and pray a lot! Everyone gets it, just a role of the dice. The key to avoiding BAD Acne is proper diet and good Hygene. And pray you don't have a problem controlling it.

EVIAN! I have tried everything and noticed that there is a distinct difference between drinking evian water and any other water... you will see the results in less than 2 weeks. I m always suffering from spots, but a 1.5 bottle of evian has helped instantly. Other than that apples and bananas help. Im a doctor, and you can get medication, but it has lots of side effects and simply a healthier lifestyle has better effects!

wash your face... 2 times EVERY DAY! I also reccomend using one of the many acne products out there... most of them are not only formulated to get rid of acne, but to prevent it as well. and, when you do get acne on occasion, DO NOT MESS WITH IT! leave it alone and it will go away... without scarring.

I recommend Velocity® Facial Cleanser. It deep cleans, tones, refreshes and exfoliates.

Then use Velocity® Lightweight Moisturizer. It softens skin while controlling excess oil on the face. http://www.marykay.com/adina_k/skincare/moisturization/moisturization/10001500/default.aspx
