I was least happy in my first marriage. I had a husband who was tied to his mother's apron strings, and they were both very paranoid. I am a naturally cheery person, so his mother nicknamed me "Pollyanna," meaning it to be an insult. We had to move to a town I didn't like because his mother lived there, and they talked on the phone for at least 1/2 hour every night. But I thought I had to be a good wife and do what he said, even though he did what she wanted. My parents happen to have money, and I found out that he thought by marrying me, he'd be set for life. When I finally left him, as a was driving away it literally felt like a weight was being lifted from my shoulders. The further away I got, the better I felt. Anonymous, 43, U.S.A.

I was the least happy when I had to face the reality that my spouse of 30 years was not a mentally healthy person and that my marriage was over for me. My marriage was bad from day 1 and I did all I could to make it better and save it. Nothing I did was enough, and nothing worked. It is heartbreaking to be 52 and feel like you've wasted your life and failed at the most important thing to you.

My name is Jeff. I live in Southwest Colorado. My age is 33. I am a Safety and Health Technician. My least happy time in my life is when my father passed away. My father was a big part of my life. But, he made some bad choices in his life. In the end it caught up to him. The last six months of this life but a strain on me and my marriage. The best I could do was make him comfortable and be there when his body finally shut down on him. I loved my dad and I miss. It was one of the worst time in my life besides getting divorce a year later. I hope that helps you. Good luck!!!!
