some say that with money comes more problems, i personally disagree. I will continue to accumulate wealth for the simple fact that you are able to enjoy the finer things in life. Going to different parts of the world and experience new culture costs money. also so that you may one day give something to your children or to someone who is less fortunate than yourself. It does make one feel good to help a child buy his or her first bike or send them on a vacation to Disneyland for the first time. the point i am trying to make is don't stop just have a plan set in place for when you finally do leave this world.

Our society is built on MORE -- more money, more status, more power, more stuff. The belief is "He who dies with the most toys wins." It's a totally bass-ackwards attitude. In reality, "He who dies with the most toys still dies." Now, there are some people who try to accumulate wealth so they will have something to leave to their children once they're gone, but that attitude (which was typical only one or two generations ago) is fading fast. Everyone else is either keeping up with the Joneses or trying to one-up the Joneses. Not smart. Planning for retirement is a good thing, but accumulating mass amounts of junk that you can't take with you is asinine.

Wealth as you call it gives security and the ability to live a comfortable life. It also enables people with a little to spare to give to charity. The really rich to give a lot to charity and the envious to ask questions like yours!

Money signifies power and importance. Many people accumulate money to get or hold on this feeling.

Because we don't know where or when the end will come, and until then, bills need to be paid, and people need something to strive for.
And to be fair, you can't take it with you, but your kids can.

Well, I would say that it's quite nice to live your life to the fullest, and by being wealthy, it helps make life easier (usually)............then, when you die, leave your money to charity
