Braxton Hicks are very common around this time in pregnancy. These contractions normally go away with physical activity, such as just walking around. True labor pains also affect your back, do you have any lower back pain? And always remember this rule: If you question it, call your doctor immediately. Don't hesitate to call your doctor, thats what she is there for, and thats what she is paid to do. You have to remember that your child's life is in your hands. If you don't think it's right, call, because one small phone call could mean life or death for your baby in certain situations. Im not trying to scare you, but you need to put your baby first. Call if you are worried, but you are doing the right thing by asking here.

Sounds like round ligament pain and you get them alot them 2nd and 3rd trimester. I'm 20 weeks and I get them like crazy. They are uncofortable as heck. Don't move around as much if you can and sometimes they go away. And from what my doctor told me they get worse every pregnancy.

Good Luck
