i was hyperthyroid and took radioactive iodine, which caused my thyriod to become incapable of producing the hormone necessary for metablism function. about a year later, i started feeling tired, sleepy and no energy at all. i went to my doctor and she did a blood test called "tsh", or thyroid stimulating hormone, turned out i had become hypothyroid, which meant i needed a supplement of this hormone. i've been on synthroid for about 5 years, and occasionally the dosage had to be adjusted. with thyroid medication it is recommended that a blood test be done about every 3 months to be sure you are getting enough or not to much of the hormone replacement. these blood tests are very important to be aware of your health. see your doctor and have the blood test. you may need a thyroid replacement hormone treatment. any way what harm can it do to find out. good luck.

You really need to take either a thyroid supplement like synthroid, or need to see a Homeopath for adequate treatment.
If your thyroid is not there.....your body is not receiving the benefit of the Hormones it produces. This will definately make you feel crappy, tired, slow, and your mental aquity will not be there.
To use an example: it would be like having a bad battery in your car.

All those are symptoms of an under-active (or in your case missing) thyroid. Take the synthroid... go see a doctor too to get a checkup.

If you had your thyroid taken out, you ought to be taking a daily dose of hormone to balance the function. So, better check with your doc and do something about it before it is too late!

Take your medicine correctly. If you still feel like this after six weeks of correctly taking you medicine see your doctor, he may increase your dosage. Hypothyrodism will make you feel tired all the time if you don't take your meds correctly.

It could be - your best bet is to go to the doctor to find out, and make sure you tell him/her about you not taking your medicine correctly, to see if that is the cause of your problem.
Hope everything works out okay.

thyroid regulates metabolism.. there are two so if the remaining one is not strong enough to control your metabolism then you will get fat because you body will not digest the food you eat properly. why did'nt you take the medicine.. it was given to you on purpose.
