I am asking this as I believe it is relevant in considering whether abortion is wrong.
If an early fetus is not capable of surviving outside of the mother, cannot feel pain, cannot remember etc, it is questionable whether he/she should be considered a "person" that can be "murdered".
If in such cases, a woman could not have an abortion by law or due to community pressure, it seems a valid option to kill herself instead.
So answer in order
1 Do I have a right to kill myself? Why/Why not?
2 This right seems to make redundant any rights of the fetus. Discuss.

this is a philosophical and moral question.
I am a man, and am not pregnant. Nor am I going to kill myself.
God, and God's will, is only relevant to those who believe, so he should be left out of moral questions.

You have the right to kill yourself, but it is difficult to do. Most people don't suceed.
Suicide does make the abortion point moot. The fetus has no rights until it is a baby. I believe in a womans right to choose. I think abortion should be the last choice, and I think it should only be used if all other forms of birth control have failed. It should not be the first line of defense against unwanted pregnancy.
The emotional baggage left after an abortion, makes many women contemplate suicide.
Your question is an interesting circle.

1 - I agree that, as a matter of free will, we all have a right to kill ourselves. But that is a difficult decision to make.
2 - As for the rights of the fetus, that is a highly debated topic. I will not get into that. I would just like to point out a few things. I am a believer of choice - I don't believe I could ever have an abortion but it doesn't mean that I wouldn't want that option to be there if circumstances required one or that I would want to take that option away from the rest of the women in the world. Who am I to make that decision for another woman? Also, the majority of abortions occur in women who are using some form of birth control....it just so happens that the method failed. It's not perfect. Another thing to think about is that 88% of abortions happen within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy where the "baby" is still considered an embryo, not a fetus. During the first 12 weeks, the bones, muscles, and organs are developing. The complex system of nerves (which allow it to move, feel, etc) takes longer to develop. Also remember, a pregnancy is not considered "viable" (able to live outside the uterus) until around 24-26 weeks.
This is a very volitile subject. I have to applaud you for bringing it up.

In El Salvador all abortions are illegal no matter what the circumstance and the penalty goes up to and includes capital punishment. So what do they do if it is a tubal pregnancy? They put the women into the hospital, hook her up to monitors and wait for the Fallopian tube to burst, then they go in and try and save the mother's life. Killing yourself is rarely a valid option, as a free willed being we all have the right to kill ourselves though that doesn't mean its moral, we can't discuss the rights of the fetus unless we agree on what it means to be human, does humanity start at conception or birth or even until we obtain self awareness?

I wish that at the time of menstruation that all girls are placed on some type of medication until they reach a age of consent and the ability to make an informed decision. I am for the rights of people and that includes women. I don't believe that abortion is a form of birth control which in some cases it is..I do believe that if pregnancy is by a sexual assault that women should be given guidance and the ability to stop the pregnancy. I am also of the belief that if a woman gets pregnant and chooses to keep the pregnancy and not to abort that she be given assistance to adopt the baby to a deserving family..Life is life..at conception..it is a miracle that as many babies make it to term. Surprisingly many pregnancies never make it past the first 6 weeks and abort on their own because of some problem with the growing fetus..Your second question about having the mom kill herself does not make sense to me..I think I hear you say that if the woman can't have the abortion then she is deserving to die because of her choice...What happen to living in a society where we can make choices without prejudice or retrabution?...Have you ever made a choice or decision that hurt someone else?..Somehow I feel you have as you are a human being..with human fralities..As we are entitiled to our opinions and I am not here to change your mind or persude you otherwise..I think we have a right to express our feelings but not a right to stop someone from following through with their feelings or plans as long as it doesn't harm you. I am referring to the anti-Abortionists who stand by the buildings with pamplets and signs..and those that threaten those people..you don't walk in their shoes, you don't know what they are going through..how would you like to go through that yourself?..Human beings have regrets..are given second chances..live with their choices..haven't you?

who says that the fetus can't feel pain? how the hell do they know that? after just weeks of conception the "baby" is developing it's little heart and nervous system!! very early in a pregnancy the blood starts pumping. Blood, heart, nervous system, hmm sounds like the makings of a person to me. what is it that we have that ensures that we feel pain? nerves!! so, you tell me, if the baby has nerves and is then ripped apart at the hands of a sick doctor, would that "baby" not feel the pain? I think so.. wouldn't you if you were ripped apart, piece by piece?? as for having the right to kill yourself, well, I don't imagine that you'd have any jail time for that, assuming you were successful.. but that's just crazy... if the baby isn't wanted that badly then, for Gods sake, give it up for adoption! there are thousands of couples who would love to have a baby but for some reason can't . wouldn't that be a better option than killing a baby or yourself?

And just who would give you that right, GOD ? Because of the sins of Adam and Eve, God said that man shall be the judge of man, not him(GOD). Their are laws against suicide, assisted or otherwise. In "solving" your problem, you are creating problems for those close and around you, think about it. Is it that you don't want to go through the process ? , or you don't want the baby? Think of all the women that are desparate to have a child, they could benefit from the birth of your child. Legal . moral , you are wanting to mar what could be a creation of GOD. Can you live with yourself knowing that ? I would give this some very serious thought, cause once you open that door of your life, it will slam shut on you, and you can't go back, ever. It is apparent that you are not a Christian, cause if you were you would not have gotten yourself in this situation. Pray for a fruitful outcome. God Bless You.

first: a girl does not have a right to kill herself. you were put on this earth for a reason. besides, the pain and confusion it causes is simply unbearable for family and friends.
second: according to my ninth grade teacher, after about six weeks, the fetus can be considered a person and can be murdered. if she didn't want a baby, she should have used protection or birth control. but since she is having one, i would wait till the baby is born, then decide whether or not you want to keep it. if not, then take it to your closest hospital and they'll find a home for the tot.

As for black men agreeing while human beings blame it on the black woman ordinarily, i think of you're precise approximately it stemming back to slavery. i think of that black men get a thrill out of courting white women. style of like a challenge. All men love a challenge. I come from an exceedingly small city in Ohio. there became into in straightforward terms one black family participants in it and that they dated all white human beings, via fact they did no longer have a call in the priority. Now I stay in a good better section and function met various black women (and men) and that they are all very large, no longer aggressive in any respect except provoked. it is how maximum folk are! I tend to side with the folks who say no. Life is too precious. If you're considering taking your own life, as I used to, then you need to find a way out of that mindset. There's plenty of help out there. You can find hope and happiness if you look for it. I found it, and so can you. Read my "Antidepressant That Works" story to get some ideas on how to help yourself:
http://www.geocities.com/seabulls69/AntidepressantThatWorks.html
If you are strong enough, you can overcome this mindset. Read the book: "The Feeling Good Handbook" by Dr. David Burns. In it are easy to follow instructions on how to "reprogram" your mind to see the good things in life and in yourself. It works, trust me. You deserve it. Life can be wonderful, if you let it.

the right to take one's own life is self evident, as there can be no penalty assessed for such an action. the declaration of independence says (in so many words) that our creator is the source of our rights, and that the function of legitimate government is to protect those rights. the gov't is NOT the SOURCE of our rights. look within yourself. you were created with the power to choose. do so wisely.
