I'm a librarian. I'm not allowed to have a favorite author, because as soon as I declare someone my favorite author, I find another that affects me in a completely different way. The ones I'm enamoured with right now?

Jacqueline Carey - Kushiel's Dart and others
Jimmy Buffett - Where is Joe Merchant? is surprisingly good and I'm looking forward to reading his other books. Who knew the Caribbean, airplanes, and aliens could actually meld into a fun weekend read? He's a decent writer too. Must be all those margaritas.
Dennis L. McKeirnan - everything I've read of his I loved, especially Once Upon a Winter's Night.
David Sedaris - everything this man writes is hilarious.

My favorite author...hmm..well i think it's Arthur Rimbaud although i consider Charles Baudelaire better then him, but Rimbaud has something special...that touches me more, in prose Wilde and Joyce...favorite books, Baudelaire's Fleurs du mal, the best book of poetry ever, The portrait of the artist as a young man from Joyce, because i haven't read Ulysses yet :P,I like very much Pascal Bruckner also...a contemporary French writer, the movie Bitter moon was made after his book. But to be sincere i like many poets, all the biggies, Blake, Byron, Poe, Whitman, Francois Villon, Pierre de Ronsard, Verlaine, I'm mentioning again Baudelaire and Rimbaud, Rainer Maria Rilke, Omar Khayyam, Hafez, Saadi, Tudor Arghezi, George Bacovia, and one of my favorites Nichita Stanescu, Serghei Esenin, Evtusenko and that's about it :P

Mark Twain (born Samuel Langhorne Clemens) I love his short stories. You can buy "The Complete Short Stories of Mark Twain." One of my favorites is "The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg." Another is "The War Prayer," though I can't remember if it's in the anthology. If not, it's available on the web.
