No the baby does not move around less.. in my experience. It also is more uncomfprtable when they kick or move because they are so big. If your baby isn't moving alot and you are worried you should call your doctor.

I've heard that and I think it's true for most women. My little munchkin, however, moved all the time. After six months it was a lot more than just kicking. I would lay down and she would do flips like she was turning over. My stomach looked like a water bed that was being jumped on! I swear I could tell whether the bump was a hand, a knee, a foot, or her head. She was very active right up until I went into labor.
Your baby should still be moving around at least a couple of times a day. If it's not moving at all, you should talk to your doctor to make sure everything is OK.
As a check, you might try putting a cup or a small plate on your tummy while you're laying or sitting. The baby should kick it. I know mine did.

Actually, that's not true. The baby moves around just as much or more, but the thing is you feel it more because there's less room for the baby to move and because the baby's bones have hardened so it makes the kicks more powerful.

However, when the baby drops, you do feel less movement because the baby is moving less after being "engaged" in the pelvic bone. Usually when you're almost to your due date and the baby starts moving less, you know you're not very far from labor.

Depending on the size of the baby, and the size of the mom, yes, maybe. But, with all of mine, the movement didnt slow down until closer to nine months. They were all very active at 6 months. It may be best to do a kick check. Eat something sugary, and lie down for an hour, and count kicks. If you feel 10 kicks in an hour, everything should be fine, if not, see your OB asap!! Or go to the ER for a sonogram.

Good luck!

True, but it happens much later. My wife noted a decrease in movement after the baby "drops" which would be just a couple of weeks before delivery.

yes, somewhat. If you are concernered about movement please call your provider and they can have you do kick counts , stress test. I hate to be a bear of bad news but b/c you asked...the mere fact that you asks concerns me. I have worked in a L&D and sometimes women w/ this same questions have delivered by emergency c/sections, or had still births. Just call your provider and seek help immediatley. Good Luck!
