They are VERY accurate. If used on the day of your missed period, they are 99% accurate. First Response pregnancy tests can be used up to 5 days before your missed period (I found out I was pregnant 6 days before my missed period with a First Response, Planned Parenthood told me I wasn't pregnant when a home pregnancy test told me that I was.) The percentage goes down the by the days before your missed period.

Extremely acccurate for positives--they test for the presence of Beta HCG. they don't test levels, though, so if it is VERY early, it may not be a full pregnancy. Take all precautions as far as care, vitamins, etc.
If it's negative, it may just be too early, (HCG levels below the test range), but assume you are until more time has gone by.

About 99%..but it also depends on when you do it. Morning is best, and a week late for your period. You can also get a blood test done at the doctor's office.

Every test is different, so it really depends on what one you are using. If you want to know 100%, go to the doctor.
