Hi. I have an original picture of the Challenger Space Shuttle just as it was taking off in 1984. I got it about 5 years ago when I went to Florida and my father's friend, who is a well known news editor, presented it to me. He asked me not to sell it, unless it came to my education, and I need rather an expensive amount to begin, in two weeks. Can anyone give me an estimate or a quote what you think it'd be worth? He said it was real valuable. Thanks.

I actually saw that launch. If I were wealthy enough to buy whatever I wanted, I would be willing to pay $1000 for it. I don't have $1000 so am NOT a potential customer, but that is what I would be willing to pay.

I am assuming it is not autographed by the crew or anything. Ron McNair, who later died in the 1986 Challenger explosion, was on board the 1984 flight. His autograph would make it worth a great deal more.

It is hard to rate how much such a thing is worth, since you have a very small potential market. You really have to find people who might be interested and ask them to make an offer.
