hello;]
yes indeed the first impression is a judgment ,,,,we all do it because we all have certain likes -dislikes and different taste .
and i totally agree with an open mind and looking past the differences people should never be judged solely on appearances ,i usually try hard not to size anyone up to quickly ,and actually base my feelings on how a person treats another ,looking at their behaviors and i guess watching what kind of an example they are to others .
sometimes like you said garish clothes or expressions of the personality through dress etc etc really is not the real person .
just sort of remember the outside is where we express our ego and personality it is the inside that is what really counts and if we try to hold off judgment till we get to experience some of the inside stuff we would all be so much better off .

I always think of the saying "never judge a book by the cover"
A person dressed in rags could be a millionaire and someone dressed in good clothes could be penniless.
Someone who looks like they might never hurt a fly could be an expert in the Martial Arts.
Humans do judge regardless it seems to be in the physical make-up,we have this ability to look and without even saying a word we have judged.
People who look different through no fault of their own a different colour,an injury or disfigurement we judge.
I get judged though my appearance as I ride a bike and that automatically puts me as being the archetypal biker before even opening my mouth.
Yes humans are funny creatures.

I think we all do. I think it's probably OK to "classify" people according to the way they look. I think it becomes a problem when you act inappropriately toward them w/out being able to make a good judge of character.
We are funny creatures as you say. We do this to others but don't want it done to us.
There are a lot of things going on this world between muggings, rape, racial tension, con games, etc. If we are able to see something coming our way we are ready for it, should it happen, we are better off. Again, this is a good thing.
If you don't offer someone a job because you don't like the way they look - you don't give to a needy person saying they are just going to use it for drugs, etc. Those things can be detrimental.

Have you ever heard the saying "Clothes make the man" and there's a flip side to that one too, "You can dress a big in a $1,000 suit and all's it will be is a pig in a $1,000 suit" we unfortunately do judge by appearance especially dress. Sad, sad is what we are, just think of all the brilliant minds that have been ignored because the weren't wearing prada.

Never judge a book by its cover - How many people would have looked at Howard Hughes and said "There goes a billionaire?"!
It's human nature to make an initial judgement on what you see - But always check things out before taking actions based on your initial observations

First impression always count. . . Although we tend not to be judgmental, first impression is hard to overcome. And the sense of sight is often the first used in catalouging one's personality. The first few moments of contact, will surely show how to proceed. . . depend on the person you're dealing with, if he is more astute. . he'll look deeper and dress/looks would be inconsequential. But, generally i guess everyone is guilty, at a time or another .

Most people dress to be judged i.e Punks think they are wild rebels, Trendy people think they are cool and some feel that is all there is in life! Most adults laugh at old photos because there were trying to look like something! Real people come out when you know them, i try not to judge but i do!

most people do it is just a habbit we have developed since the beginning of rich and poor. but for the most part i would have to say usually it is right. like example here in america if some one has some sort of gang colors on a major clue would be that they are in that gang. if some one wears a tux it is a sign that they are in a decent career, if some one wears prison clothes lol as u know that symbolizes they are in prison, if a woman is dressed rather provactive chances are she is permiscuous to put it lightly.

that is tousled. i'd furnish you with a balloon :). certain. One time i changed into going to the bathroom in college and some instructor idea i changed into skipping and vandalizing the position so she checked the bathroom for vandalism. Than some lady got here in to apply the bathroom and that instructor did not say some thing to her. So i imagine she changed into judging me on my visual charm. people have a tendency to imagine i'm a stoner or that i'm a dumb blonde too.

Every person on earth judges.. Even the blind. Its what we do. But you cant blame people for trying to have morals. I used to be scarred of black people. And naturally people hate what they are scared of.So I became a local redneck. Eventually me and this huge black guy got in a fight. (I was SO scared) . I thought i was ganna die. It was actually a pretty even fight. well the point of the story is we became really good friends and I figured out how much alike we were.
