What does one mean when one say "I believe in God!"?

If someone in a religion says it, it means that they believe that God is a being that has bearing over their lives and actions

Many people say that they believe in God if Jesus Christ is not his Son then, the God they are talking about are false. Jesus came on this earth died and was buried for our sins, so that we could enter into heaven. When sin enter the earth we needed to be saved from our sins and there is no way apart from excpeting Jesus Christ. People say they believe in God because it is the right thing to Do in many cases, but If you believe in God your actions will so it and your life style will. How to become saved You must realize that you are a sinner and that you need to be saved from the pentaliy of sin, and that Jesus Christ is the only one who can save your sins ask him to come into your heart and save you. Believing in God, doesnt mean anything if Jesus is not his son. People have made gods out of everything, and the bible supports that fact and also that everyone that says Lord Lord shall not enter into heaven. And that simply shows us that saying that I believe in God doesnt carry much weight

Although people may have different conceptions of God, He exists regardless of what we think of Him. Atheists disagree claiming that He doesn't exist. Agnostics claim they're certain that nothing can be said certainly of God. Theists claim God does exist, and most believe He can be known to a degree.

By not capitalizing "god" you're necessarily referring to a vague concept of deity, so this is open to limitless answers. Everyone can make up their own gods.

If you'd capitalized "God," then I'd recommend discovering Him from what He revealed about Himself in His Word (the Bible) and in the universe around us, which He created.

I believe in God. The Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in his only begotten son, Jesus the Christ, who was born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontious Pilot, was crucified, died and was burried. One the third day he rose and now sits at the right hand of the Father. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

god, god is a power/ concept/ person/ thing/ situation....etc. that gives us motivation and strength to stand when going gets tough....it can be anything like ur love, whose dreams and thoughts give u strength ......it may be u urself, if u are highly motivated......u may be ur parents too, giving strength....thats why parents are supposed to be equal to GOD in some communities..........but now a days, as we have grown up, we have been short sighted, we can not love anyone in this running world, today WE DON'T ACT BUT REACT to others, wnd dont have time/efforts/ energy to think abt ourselves and abt GOD....and we have given that job to some priests which, time to time keep on changing the meaning and means according to their greedy wills...........

Depends on who one is...The only thing one can conclude is that said person believes he is created by a deity.
