Seminal fluid makes up a bulk of ejaculate. Only a small portion of that is semen. The thickness of thje ejaculate has nothing to do with the potency, or sperm count of the ejaculate.
The seminal fluid can be thick if the person does not retain alot of water, maybe because they drink alot of coffee or tea, and don;t drink many fluids. SOmeone different might get lots of exercise, and drink lots of fluids, making the seminal fluid more liquid, and less thick.
Both of them could have the same sperm count, or potency.
So, the consistency has nothing to do with whether you will be able to have children, or not. In fact, although a very minor factor, the thinner fluid could quite possibly (guestimate) be more likely to get you pregnant, with the same level of sperm. It might flow more easily, and so more easily get to the egg than the thicker fluid.
How can you be sure? Both of you can get tested. Both of you? Yes, infertility problems are much more widely found than in the past, and women face as many, or more problems in having children than men do. Testing is the only way to have peace of mind if you are concerned.

There are many factors that influence the consistency of semen - including diet (and dehydration), temperature and physical activity. Thick or watery - consistency in no way indicative of fertility. A number of other fluids from the the prostate gland, the Cowper's glands and the seminal vesicles are combined with the sperm prior to ejaculation.. Some secretions are designed to neutralize acids (such as urine traces in the urethra), others provide vital enzymes. The finished product contains approximately just 10% sperm. The rest consists of enzymes, vitamin C, calcium, protein, sodium, zinc, citric acid and fructose sugar.

I have been ttc for 15 months and have done much research and docs and such. I have never come across anything regarding the consistancy of ejac fluid. I do know that women have two types of fertile cervical mucus that if required to keep sperm happy until o. That is watery and egg white (yeah just like egg whites). While egg white is best, watery is great too. So - maybe it's the same for men - watery or EW. Also - when you do decide to ttc, if you don't get pg within 3 or 4 months, have him get an analysis. Men can take fertility meds (Clomid) just like women. In men it boosts there sperm. So don't be worried - its amazing what docs can do these days. HTH!

Actually the opposite is true. Thick (hyperviscous) semen is usually the problem.
Human sperm hyperviscosity is revealed rather frequently in men from infertile couples (38%) but it is rarely has independent importance as a single cause of male infertility. It is combined mainly with poor sperm motility and low sperm concentration intensifying male subfertility. The more extent of oligo- and asthenozoospermia in human semen the greater viscosity of seminal plasma. That is why sperm hyperviscosity should be a part of subfertility syndrome. Just when oligoasthenozoospermia is revealed in viscous semen treatment of sperm hyperviscosity may be an effective medical approach.
Semen viscosity (liquid flow) also affects your fertility potential. If your coagulated semen does not liquefy within an hour of ejaculation, your sperm may be trapped in the cottage cheese-like jelly.
Thin semen usually has as good a quality and quantity of sperm as thick semen does.

Premature ejaculation is caused by specific things that you do before and during sex. Most of the time without even realizing it. Read here https://tr.im/dbrni
Premature ejaculation is not some gene you're born with, the result of your penis size or a part of your personality that you can never change.

Semen is *not* the same as sperm. The *only* job of the semen is to get the sperm into your body. It is important for about 15 seconds...then its job is *done*. It doesn't matter (much) what it looks, feels, or smells like; it would have to be *really* "off" to create a problem.

Get him to eat Kiwis. Kiwis make the sperm fuller and thicker. Anyway, you only need one healthy sperm to meet up with the egg. So much extra sperm for what ? Unless you have other usage for the sperm then the more the merrier.
