Sounds like a silly question right? Well considering that there are aborigines, asians and black people living in Australia.

So then why do you never see any ethnics in Australian international TV, music and sports (okay you see the odd one in their Rugby team). The TV programmes we see in the UK such as Home & Away, Neighbours, Cell block H and so on dont have any actors from ethnic backgrounds. I know there was A black actor in neighbours a very long time ago but he just a one-show-cameo role.

So what is Australia all about? Is Australia saying that it is too right-wing OR is it trying to make the world think that ethnics can only be sport, movie, TV or music stars in other contries like France, US, England? Even Germany has black football players now beat that one...

Do note that i havent been to Australian yet so before i get bombarded with 'locall & domestically we have lots of famous Asians blah blah etc' Im just commenting on how it may seem to us non-Aussies...

As you may know, in the past Australia had a 'white only' policy for immigration. Anyone with a dark complexion was refused entry. Although this system is changing, those in the media/government/entertainment still behave as if the 'white only' policy is still in existence.

There are aboriginies. They aren't "black" per say, but they are very dark skinned with sometimes blond curly hair! They're kind of like the "native australians", you know, like how the US has "native americans." Its kinda the same.
