Your system is fully capable of running 64 bit Windows as I'm running x64 on a virtually identical sytem. The only difference is I'm running a 640 3.2 Ghz processor. Just make sure you download Vista x64 drivers before beginning the new installation.

ATI Vista x64 drivers are here:

Intel x64 Drivers:

well if i remember correctly the pentium 4 630 supports EM64T which is nothing more than Intels version of AMD64. you also have to make sure your bios supports em64t. if it does all you would have to do is buy windows xp x64 edition and pop in the cd and when you boot up it will install windows 64 bit like it normally does regular windows xp. you do however need to make sure all your other hardware has 64bit drivers. driver support is still pretty limited, i've used windows xp x64 and its nice as long as your hardware is supported.

To find out if you have 32 bit or 64 bit:

Start > Run > type in regedit then hit Enter.

Navigate to this key by expanding the appropriate nodes:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Control\Session
Manager\Environment\
PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE

if the value is x86 then you are running 32-bit.

You cant install 64bit programs if your computer is 32bit. Some programs might work, but thats usually because they might work on both 32bit and 64bit.

most probably if Vista isnt working then you might have a 32 bit one....you can upgrade your computer to a 64 bit one....in most cases the applications work in both 32 and 64 bit ...but some require 64bit ones....

You need a 64-bit processor to run 64-bit Vista. You know if you have one, cause you bought it special..
