This is normal. Babies need plenty of sleep. Some do most of their sleeping at night, and some get it through really long and plentiful naps.
My baby is 4 months old and sleeps anywhere from 7 to 9+ hours each night.

I disagree with Jessica-some babies will NOT wake themselves up, even if they are hungry. I had a preemie who was a very sleepy baby. If the pediatrician hadn't given us directions to wake her up and make her eat every three hours, she would have slept through the night when we brought her home from the hospital at four days old. She is four, my son is two, so I am currently raising children, and it hasn't been that long since they were babies. Sleeping through the night is just not healthy for a two week old.

Babies should be able to sleep through the night at 6 weeks of age. If your babies did it without you trying, then you are a very lucky mom. My son started sleeping through the night at 4 months after only trying to get him to do it for a week. By that age, they no longer need to eat at night. And diaper changing shouldn't be an issue either. You are lucky that they did it on their own. You don't need to keep checking on them, they will be fine. Start enjoying your sleep. They should be sleeping anywhere from 9-12 hours a night. No less than 9. Congratulations.

That is perfect!!! My babies (I have 7) were sleeping through the night by 6 weeks. I had one son who went to bed at 6:30pm and wouldn't wake up to eat until 7am. It was WONDERFUL. But all babies are different. If at 4.5 months they are sleeping 9.5 hours a night...that is terrific! Enjoy the peace! If they are hungry, they'll be sure to let you know! :)

That's fine, don't worry, they will wake when they are ready. My child started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks, just a straight 6 hours the first night, from 10pm-4am. Then it progressed to sleeping probably almost 12 hours at night. From about 8pm-8am, sometimes varying. Sometimes she would even fall asleep earlier, and I'd think she would get up later to eat, but she would sleep all night still.

Their stomachs are bigger than they were a few months ago there for they are fuller for longer. Be blessed they are sleeping that long during the night. At age 2.5 months my daughter went 3 weeks sleeping the entire night. But then she started waking up again to eat at least once a night now she is back to sleeping all night long at 5.5 months.

Then you are one of the lucky ones. At four and a half months this is possible, but rare. My daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was almost a year. Up until then she was nursing four to six times a night. If you are concerned that your baby is getting to much sleep and/or not enough food then obviously speak to the doctor.

Do the happy dance..My son started sleeping through the night at 2-1/2 weeks. He went down at 9, and woke up at 8 the next morning. They will wake up when they are hungry. Don't let people tell you to wake them up to feed them. They will let you know when.

At 4 and a half months, both of my son's slept from about 7:30pm to 7:00am. Some babies just sleep and it's a happy thing!
Don't worry...when they're hungry, wet, uncomfortable, or lonely, they'll let you know!

Do a dance honey. They are fine right? He will wake when he wants. I am sooo jealous right now my 7 month old won't sleep thru the nite. His brother did but not him. Your baby is just fine sometimes they sleep. Enjoy it.
