I'm a 15 year old male, 5"4, and weigh 105 pounds, and was born premature. I know I'm on the lean side and everything, but my stomach isnt flat, ITS NOT FAT AT ALL, I just have some fat there, my waist is 27 inches. I've heard that I have it because I am still in the growing process and in order to grow I need that fat, and that it will go away after growing has stopped. Anyone know why this is? thanks

Your body stores the fat for when it needs the extra calories of energy. If your not eating at regular times your body will store the processed food as fat (because your body won't know when you'll eat again). Then it will use the fat when it needs it. If you constantly starve yourself or not eat at set times every day your body will store the food you take in as fat so that it has something to work on when you are not eating.
The simple truth is easy to remember to lose weight. You must burn more calories than you take in. I know it's kinda repetitious but it's kinda that easy.
All the south beach, hollywood, atkins stuff just really teaches what to eat.
But you should have a set pattern of eating so that your body does not store it all as fat. If you eat every [say] 5 hours your body will get into a rhythm of knowing that there is food on the way and it will know that it can use the stuff that is in your stomach now as energy and it will be getting some more so it will burn it off instead of keep it.

probably just baby fat is all. but you've already answered your own questions. it's because you are still growing and u need it to help you grow. after some time, it will go away. you're right at the age when it should. but it may be a little bit longer. i know a lot of people who didnt lose their baby fat until 21. if it ain't bad, don't sweat it. just start working out. you will be fine.

I'm an 18 year old male, 5"7 and weigh 57kg. I'm a bit on the lean side, I'm coming out of my growing phase and I have a flat stomatch and I love my body. I wouldn't trade it for anyones.

It's baby fat. My son was the same way, he is now twenty years old and his stomach has become more flat. Girls are not the only ones who experience baby fat. And remember, sit up each day won't hurt. Good Luck.

Maybe yes, maybe no. To be on the safe side, I'd begin watching what you eat and start exercising. Try to limit your fast food intake and cut down on the soft drinks. There are many healthy alternatives to all the junk that's pushed our way.
If you begin a healthy lifestyle now, you'll reap the benefits for many, many years.

Everyone usually has a little extra fat or flab, I myself am 23 and 5'11'' and weigh about 140 lbs but I still have a little flab in my stomach area.

it should be gone within the next couple of years. If you still have it by the age of 18 or 19 I would start to worry
Good luck

Yes, you need that fat. Growth requires energy. Fat is the body's way of storing energy. You really don't want to lose it all, as this would have consequences to your body's growth schedule. Have patience. You'll have plenty of time to attract the girls.
