I have no idea why you can't wear white after labor day. I do it all the time and nothing goes wrong.

White reflects sunlight and keeps you cool, so is typically thought of as a summer color. Black and dark colors absorb sunlight, so are typically thought of as winter colors. Labor Day is just a random cut-off that fashion people picked for when you are supposed to switch from one to the other.

But as the person above said, you can wear white all the time if you live in a tropical, semi-tropical, or arid climate.

Traditionally, white is a spring/summer/warm climate colour only, at least in the Western world. A previous answerer (?) was right in saying that if you move to a tropical or subtropical area, where summer and winter are not markedly different, it's considered fine to wear white all year. Labor Day is used as a guide date mark the end of the warm season in the Northern Hemisphere. But I don't think many ppl take this real serious anymore...

Because white is a Summer color and after labor day you can reasonably expect to transition into Fall colors.

After Labor Day it unofficially becomes fall making it time for fall colors. For anyone into fashion that is.

Its not that you cant but most people believe that after labor day you should wear more warm colors instead of cool light colors. like fall colors like reds, oranges, browns, blacks those kinds of colors.

This is an old "rule" that no one follows anymore.
It's really more about fabric and texture than color.
