He has proundly stated on serveral occasions that he is a 'warring president' and enjoys the 'challenge' of fighting a war. Diplomacy is too peaceful for him.

Hate to use diplomacy? Based on what? The reality is that he has used a lot of diplomacy.

With China, North Korea, Europe, Russia, Pakistan, etc. He used diplomacy to pull together the coalition forces to go into Afghanistan and Iraq. He has used diplomacy to create a loose group of countries that prevent proliferation of WMD, by use of intelligence and interdiction of shipping.

Just because the only method of removing the Taliban and Saddam were military methods, does not make Bush any less diplomatic. In fact, the effective use of military actually puts the steel behind the veiled threats of the diplomatic 'stick'.

So, all this bellyaching about some alleged non-use of diplomacy is a bunch of nonsense.

Your assumptions are way off the mark. We can never know everything that goes on behind closed doors, because part of diplomacy is allowing the participants to feel comfortable being honest about what they want. If either party were to release the diplomatic discussions to the public, true negotiations would break down.

And, frankly, part of diplomacy is being able to negotiate from a position of strength. If the other country knows we are ready to back up our position with force if necessary, it can bring the more stubborn dictators to the bargaining table. That is just a fact of life.

When exactly has diplomacy solved anything?
Did diplomacy stop Hitler?
Did diplomacy stop North Korea's invasion of South Korea?
Did diplomacy stop North Vietnam's invasion of South Vietnam?
Did diplomacy bring down the Soviet Union?
Did diplomacy get Saddam out of Kuwait?
Did diplomacy stop Milosavich from pursuing ethnic cleansing in Kosovo?
Did Clinton's diplomacy deter North Korea and Iran from pursuing nuclear weapons?

Please, tell me when in history did diplomacy do anything except allow the evil people of the world more time to run around murdering, raping, and pillaging.

I don't believe he does.

He has made expert use of diplomacy in his dealings with China and Japan. He has also called for world and UN concensus for many of the actions he has taken when it was not at all necessary for him to do so.

If the best the Bush haters have to offer as an alternative is H. Clinton, it will be awhile before the way we do things now will change. She is unelectable for president.

Bush picks out of a bowl filled with little papers. Some papers have "diplomacy" on them; the others have "let's go to war." For Iraq and Afghanistan, he drew "Let's go to war." In Iran and North Korea, he drew "Diplomacy."

Are you STUPID or something!! All the diplomacy that Colin Powell and Condi Rice has done over the years, and you still ask a totally AS*INE question like this.

The liberals have taught you to keep your head where the sun doesn't shine. This makes you see a CRAPPY world.

Pull your head out and wash your face and you will see the world isn't as CRAPPY as you thought.

You libs are so depressing with your negative attitude towards everything.

1) He'd need to know how to spell "diplomacy" and,

2) Once he can spell the word, he would need to understand the meaning of it.

3) If #'s 1 and 2 are completed, he would need to understand the process. Now THAT's gonna be the real challenge.

Best Wishes!

He doesn't. You're jumping to conclusions. He uses diplomacy every day. If he didn't, we'd be in half a dozen wars around the world.

And lasermouse, that's BS. Where do you people get your information?

Who do you want to talk with? Hezbollah? Hamas? Iran? Syria? Please pick up a history book. Diplomacy will never work with people whose only stated purpose is to destroy Israel and Satin America. What color is the sky in your world?
