Try going to sca.org - it's the website for the Society of Creative Anachronisms (aka "those crazy guys/gals who dress up in armor and beat each other for fun") and they are involved in 90% of the Renaissance Fairs in the US... at least.

Definitely run a search on Dogpile or Google to find a Renaissance Faire. Most states seem to have at least one, at least once a year. They're a lot of fun, but can be expensive. Definitely worth going to though. :)
Midieval times is a rip-off... they charge like $50 for a meal and cram you onto benches like cattle. The food is ok and little service. It's all a money-making gimmick... but they do put on a good show if you've got the money to burn. Your $ is better spent if you go to a ren-faire and take in all the free shows- once you're "in the door" there's plenty to see. :)

They have a whole park down in Orlando Fl. ( no not in Disney) they play renaissance games, joist, swords, ect. you even sit down on the floor for lunch and eat like they did. My kids went on a field trip and I went with them. It was the best.
