Although I don't like to answer questions that are poorly written, I will answer this one as I have a story....Many years ago I was married to a very greedy man, who would sneak out, leaving myself and two children behind, on the pretence of saying he was going to fetch a newspaper. he would come back smelling of McDonald's, yet strongly deny it, even on one occasion when he had a sesame seed lodged in his tache! I waited years to exact revenge, he went to the local hospital to have his wisdom teeth out ( always thought in his case they were not required) I picked him up, his face like a hamster, not able to open his jaw and more importantly, hungry and not able to speak. We drove by the local McDonald's, where myself and the kids decided we'd have a drive thru, wound all the windows down while we considered our orders, collected the orders, closing all the windows to keep the smell in....got home, he went straight for the note pad, writing "you are all B*******s" as we tucked in, small in many peoples' worlds, big and well worth every minute in mine

La vengeance est un plat qui se mange froid...From the book Les Liaisons Dangereuses in 1782 by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. Revenge is a dish best served cold suggests emotional detachment and planning are best for taking revenge.
My most cunning example of revenge took place when I was much younger. A girl at my school had stolen my boyfriend and I had to retaliate or my heart would have exploded with hate. Realizing that my boyfriend had some responsibility in this matter, I felt compelled to include him in my revenge.
Since I worked at the health department as a clerk, I had access to official health department stationary. Using a typewriter and a sample letter from the office, I wrote two identical notifications to the parents of the girl and the boyfriend. The letter that because they were minors, the state was obligated to contact their guardians, regarding positive test results for syphilis. I even mailed the letters from the office. I could have lost my job if anyone had ever found out.
I never knew what happened, because no one ever talked about it. But, the girl was moved to another school. And when my boyfriend apologized and wanted to be with me again, I refused. I realized that I had gotten more enjoyment from the revenge than I had ever had in the relationship.

The term means that revenge should be planned with a level head. Sometimes you cool off enough not to want revenge anymore but when you do you should execute it with surgical precision.
Sometimes I wait a little while so the person that I get revenge on might not know who done it right away but it has to make a statement. Be creative.

There is no point seeking revenge. I leave it to Karma, what people give out, good or bad, they get back 10 times. So, if someone hurts you, they will get hurt back in some way. Only don`t wish it on them because then the negativity comes back to you.

God said, "Revenge is mine, and I will repay.". He never said revenge is bad. I saw an old preacher years ago that changed my life. He said that all of his enemies were either dead, or broke, or dead broke. When he was being persecuted, he simply walked away and said, "God, handle it."
Beyond that, it's a good idea to pray for your enemies. This will greatly enhance your alliance with God, and who knows? Somebody might turn around and become the best friend you ever had.

Why take revenge. Just smile sweetly and pretend that wahtever it was has not bothered you that makes people more frustrated than seeing you get angry and need revenge

We don't "get back at people." That's kindergarten. You give the actions of others only the importance they deserve and then you move on.

sure, you need to think about your actions to weigh up if they are worth carrying out and how best to do that.
Acting while adrenaline is flowing could end in disaster.
