well i think it's not certain about the pride he has as an Algerian origin, but I'm quite sure he is because he never cover the fact about his family and childhood, and that's good.

actually why should someone feel embarrassed of his/her origin? no matter it's good or bad it's a fact that everyone must accept themselves. a great present life must also be influenced by the past one.

especially for Zidane, i think he must be very glad for being loved and respected by the french (well some might not) although his parents are immigrants. that's a wonderful thing of football, in the games there were no 'immigrant' or what, it's all written -- France --.

Well I hope he is, why wouldn't he be. To not be would be like saying he is not proud of his parents. I have a black mother and white father and I am proud of my origins. I am sure most on here are also. And if he went back for holidays, well nothing wrong with his family keeping him in touch with both his heritage and his country of birth.

yes, that's been written about. back in 1998, he got red carded when he stamped on a saudi player who apparently sledged him for his berber origins. he's quite sensitive about it and that's often been regarded as his achilles heel. pretty obvious he's had some rough times dealing with racism while growing up.
