To Daniel: Here's a breakdown of the pitching/hitting stats of the AL East:
Boston 5.5 runs per game 7th best Pitching in AL
Toronto 5.3 runs per game 10th ranked pitching
Tampa 4.2 runs per game 12th ranked pitching
Yankees 5.6 runs per game 5th ranked pitching
so we have the best pitching inthe AL east and score the most runs...what were you saying again???

The Yankees are injured and playing great. I'm a Red Sox fan and I think BOTH teams will make it to the playoffs. I still think the Sox will win the division. Both teams have shown they can beat the White Sox and the Tigers.

Typical Yankee fan. Today is July 17, 2006. There are still 70+ games left. Your pitching staff is in disarry. You just picked up a pitcher who has the highest era in baseball since 2004. Giambi will slump, Arod will choke, and most of your replacemnt players will drop over the next 40 games. Don't look for the yankees to go better than 20 - 20 over their next 40 games.

Maybe some people proclaimed that but I've been saying since day 1 of the season: The Yankees will win the AL East. So it is no surprise to me that they are taking control.

Yes, i agree with you 100%. Everybody thought the Yankees wouldn't catch up to the Red-Sox, but look they're a 1/2 game behind! They all counted us out. But we are comin back and we're gonna take AL East.

I have said from day 1 NEVER count them out.They would be there in the Finals and WILL go to the World Series.
Sorry Tigers fans but just the way it's gotta be.
The Yankees laways find a way to make it work for them especially after the All Star Game. They are just hitting their stride and will stomp all comers.
