Because if you are one of those gents who can't 'perform' when there is someone standing next to you, you throw a penny in the urinal. You've heard of the term 'to spend a penny'- meaning to go to the loo?
Or maybe there is a charity that collects in these?
You should see how much there is in a toilet- but you tend not to have someone standing next to you in a toilet booth... well, unless....

I usually toss one in at the end of the night. I'm like the tooth fairy, I go around to all of the pubs and toss in a penny for deserving young gent's. It's up to you to fish out my rewards however.
