You need a bibliography to show your sources and to give the authors of the book/magazine/website credit for using their work as a reference.

You need to give credit where credit is due. If you quote me or rely on my writings, then you have to give me the credit I deserve. The bibliography is where people can turn to see who's ideas and writings you relied upon.

So that you can cite your sources. Otherwise it would kind of be like plagirism.
And I kind of suspect teachers just want to pile on as much work as possible.

To give proper credit where credit is due. You do not want to be accused of plagiarism.

Teachers make you do it for practice so that you don't plagiarize when you're an adult...you gotta remember to name your sources.
